14 Weeks 5 Days & Birthday

14 Weeks 5 Days & Birthday

Today was an awesome birthday because we got to see our little one. We had an OB appointment and we were hoping that the doc would be able to tell us the gender. But he/she just did not want to un-cross his/ her legs; nor did he/she want to give us a frontal view. Bummer! But the important part of the appointment was that we got to see the baby and see that the baby was healthy and GROWING. He/she has actual limbs now, rather than buds! He/she was flexing and extending his/her arms and fingers! Not his/her legs though; He/she kept them tucked up and crossed, right over the genital area. Ha! In one of the photos, he/she is giving us a thumbs up! John said the baby did that to say "Mom, quit worrying, I'm fine!" That's exactly what he/she was doing. The heart rate was fast and healthy, as normal, at 160 bpm. And he/ she was moving around like crazy! So active! John and I loved seeing all of it. So beautiful. The doc said my placenta doesn't have any clots around it, that it's growing nicely (it looked huge), and migrating away from the cervix.. All good news! We'll have another appointment in 2 weeks. And he still wants me to keep my activity level pretty low, too.

Our little one greeted us in a skeleton Halloween costume, just a week before Halloween. Ha!

Here's the "thumbs up" pic. I originally thought he/she was sucking his/her thumb

John had 4 hours of class that night so we decided to forego the birthday celebration for the next day.
