The Hatches finally made it! They got here in less than 24 hours. Can't believe it!
We had a little get together on Wednesday. We even got family pictures taken in the pouring rain! I got to hold Sannah even though she was feeling a little shy. I was impressed with how well these two got along right away.
Mom made sure I got a picture of these bros. Can you believe Steve said he himself wasn't photogenic?
Sarah, in front of the camera rather than behind. Then Kelly, Christa, Nate and Charity.
Sleepy Sannah. John and I couldn't get enough of this cute girl during their visit.
Molly and Mom. Two peas in a pod
Simon, Molly, Mom
Molly wanting Sannah to wake up. "Ummm, hello? I'm your cousin and we haven't even met yet!"
Sweet Sannah. Sarah says she looks more like me, mom and Christa than she does herself.
Simon and Molly
Super cute! Molly and Sarah.
Later that evening we all went to mine and John's place (with the exception of some Mayneses) for a dinner and playing and a movie. We had tilapia, salad, potatoes and cookies for dessert. Then the adults had a blast doing the cinnamon challenge (John had a good excuse not to because he was fasting. Lucky for him!) Brent, Steve and Simon did it. John was so impressed. He said that he's never seen any one be able to do it.
Then we watched the movie Pure Luck. It's amazing how all of the in-laws in our family like all of our family's traditional movies like Dirty Rotten Scoundrels and Clifford. John loves Clifford!
During the Pure Luck movie, Mom experienced a little "pure luck." She was washing the dishes for us and accidentally broke the sink faucet. Luckily Brent was there to fix it! We had to get a part the next day, but Brent came back and fixed it! So nice of him, considering he was supposed to be on vacation. He's very talented. The faucet works even better than it did before it broke! No more leaking! Thanks Brent!
It was so cute, when it was time for everyone to leave to go stay at Grandma Debbie's house, Sannah said to me "You coming wis us?" Love that girl! 4-27-16
On Friday, luckily my work shift got cancelled (lately, that hasn't been happening). John had to work thought, which was a bummer. Brent called me though and asked me to go to lunch with them. We met at a McDonald's in Salt Lake and then they all came over to our place while Brent worked on the faucet.
Later that night, Brent and Sarah invited John and me to dinner in Salt Lake at an incredible Italian pizza restaurant (can't remember the name for the life of me!) It was so good, and so fun. It's been fun for me to let my family get to know John and vice versa. Sarah and Brent moved right after John and I got married, so they haven't seen very much of us as a married couple. So it was really fun for me to be with all of them. I'm pretty sure they all like each other!
Just look at us! We got ice cream afterwards and attempted a 4 person selfie (as evidenced). Brent and Sarah and their kids currently live in Tennessee. My super smart brother is in PA school and has only about a year left!
Then they came over to our place and we chatted a bit longer. Brent did some finishing touches on the faucet. Afterwards, John kept talking about how fun Sarah and Brent are and how funny Brent is. We so wish they didn't live so far away! 4/29/16
On Monday Mom had a horse riding party for us all at her neighbor Susie's house. All of the kids got to ride, plus John and me. I guess we were the most child-like.
The little ones were so brave. Even Molly got on a horse!
Yes, John is getting his horse let by another man.
I think the true highlight of the evening, though, was their dog Ike. A huge malamute dog that was sooo sweet. We loved him. Wish I had gotten a picture!
Then we had dinner at Mom's house afterwards. Wish my stomach hadn't hurt, because the fried ice cream looked so good. John said it was fabulous.
Brent spent most of the evening trying to find a cure for my gastritis. He hasn't found one, as of yet.
Kelly sang for us the song that she sang for the call back tryouts for Kaysville Idol. She is such a great singer!
We said goodbye to the Hatches for the last time that evening. It was so sad! I wish we could have hung out with them more! They were very busy the entire time they were here, though. Very popular! We love you guys! We love your children more and more every time we get to spend time with them! We will come visit you guys soon! 5/2/16
